Chapter 30

Have I really made it to my thirties? Wow… I never actually considered what it would feel like to get to this age.
Over the past year, here are a few things that I have learned.
God has a better plan and knows so much more than I do. I never thought I would be living where I am and doing the job that I am doing at all. To have a job where I consistently have to conduct inspections, give briefings, and speak publicly would have been foreign to me just over a year and a half ago. The first five months of 2024 I felt depressed, confused, and upset with the Air Force for a position I was getting put up for that I never wanted to do. Once that was canceled, I figured I probably wouldn’t have to think about special duty positions again ( enter January 2025). Sike… It’s definitely taken me a while to adjust to my position ( and I am still learning every day), but I can see God’s Hand in how He is developing me and using me in ways I did not think possible. My introverted self is learning that nothing is impossible with God.
It is possible for me to step out of my comfort zone in career, friendships, and goals. As mentioned before, becoming a MTL was a complete step into the unknown for me- the fear of failure has come up in my mind plenty of times. Going to a new church where I knew no one was nerve wracking- especially when stepping into a smaller connection group for the first time. Once I put myself in that position, I’ve been able to meet other like minded people who I have been able to start friendships with. ( Making friends in my late twenties/early thirties is not impossible!) I’ve also challenged myself to up my fitness, cooking skills, and Bible reading this year.
Do I have it all figured out? Nope! Just like there was much I had to learn over the course of my twenties, I know that God has a lot in store for me in my thirties. I just want to be listening so that I do not miss what He has for me.
