My Thankful List
For my first personal post, I felt it would be best to make a list of many of the blessings in my life. So much of the time I’m pretty pessimistic and dwell on all the problems, but it’s very enlightening to actually take an account of how much I take for granted.
Salvation- I ended up being led to the Lord at five years old by my kindergarten teacher, and I’m forever grateful I made that decision. I have a lot of struggles, and I’m still on the journey of learning to fully rely on God for my daily decisions.
A growing church- I’ve been a part of a smaller ministry for the last eight years and I’ve really grown to love the people I’ve met and all the opportunities for growth I’ve been offered. I’m still a work in progress, but I get to do it along other like-minded people.
A Christian family- I honestly should never take for granted the godly parents I was given. Though they are not perfect, I am grateful that they have been consistent examples to me about how to love God, each other, and how to serve. I also am blessed with the best brothers and sisters I could ask for- we often have long talks about life and everything in between, and I will always be a life long fan of each of them.
Job- As of this month, I will have been in the Air Force nine years- that’s crazy to me! Though I have had my fair share of ups and downs ( with a lot of the downs being this year), I appreciate what the military has taught me. I’ve learned how to make adult decisions( car, housing, paying bills) as well as how to work hard and lead others. I’ve been blessed to have immediate supervision who has cared about my well-being as well as encouraged me in leadership development.
School- I’ve been consistently in school since 2021, and I hope to be able to finish up my bachelors degree in the next year or two. I am thankful that God has given me the ability and time to complete the requirements I need- I’ve been able to learn so much about media and other related topics!
Car -I was able to put down half for my car brand new and pay it off in a year ( thanks to being blessed with a deployment), and I never want to take for granted the blessing of having reliable transportation.
Friends- There’s a small group of people that I grew up with that I can always count on to be encouraging or to listen to me share about my life (even if we haven’t talked in a while). I’ve also made friends through my church in Northern California that I will always choose to get together with ( whether that’s to have fun or to serve together). I made some acquaintances from a podcast group that I am a part of, and I hope that I can develop some of those relationships as I try to make it out to more in-person events.
Books/Movies/ TV shows- My elementary aged self would say that books are life! I don’t read as much as I did then, but I still enjoy a good book every now and then. Also, I can never turn down watching a good movie or TV show. Marvel and Star Trek fan for life!
Photography- Dad was the family photographer when I was young, and then one day, I discovered my love of it as well. I can never pass up documenting family memories, new places, and anything and everything in between.
Travel- This year, I did the most traveling around that I ever have ( Northern California, Florida, New York, and Missouri). I feel like that gave me more a travel bug, and I will try to take more opportunities to go out and explore the world (and photograph).
